Photographed along a beach in St Ives, the light was such that the people appeared as silhouettes fading out into the distance.
For me, this composition drew similarities with the scenes painted by L.S Lowry in the 1950's where matchstick figures, set against a backdrop of activity and normality added a unique nuance to the work.
